The Net-Zero Carbon (NZC10) target was devised by P1 Investment Management with guidance from climate scientists and our external Ethical Oversight Committee.
P1 are investment managers are leaders in ethical and sustainable investment. We appreciate that for a truly sustainable future, the global economy urgently needs to transition to net-zero emissions. P1 aims to do ethical investing “as well as possible given real-world constraints”. The NZC10 target seeks to directly focus investment on carbon-neutrality by fund managers concerned about ethical and sustainability issues.
P1’s external Ethical Oversight Committee, is comprised of experts in Environment, Governance and Social issues. The Ethical Oversight Committee reviews ethical and sustainability issues, to ensure that P1 selects funds based on robust ethical investment policies. P1’s Ethical Oversight Committee meets regularly, engages on ethical and sustainability issues, raises difficult questions and audits our process.
P1’s ethical portfolios are already committed to fossil divestment, following our progressive fossil divestment policy. To promote climate-friendly investment beyond fossil divestment, and divest-invest, with support from climate scientists and the Ethical Oversight Committee we developed the Net-Zero Carbon 10 (NZC10) target to help refocus investors beyond emissions reduction to the urgent requirement to achieve an ultimate goal of net-zero emissions.
